Shahy Privacy Policy

Effective October 10, 2026.

In short

Shahy does not collect your data. The developer runs no servers, accounts, analytics or ads. Everything you enter is stored on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud.

What data the app holds

Only what you enter yourself:

  • transactions: date, type, category, amount, currency, exchange rate, account, comment;
  • cards: name, color and icon;
  • categories and their limits;
  • installments, recurring payments and subscriptions;
  • debts: the names and notes you type in;
  • savings: cash, deposits, government bonds;
  • appearance and language settings.

The app never asks for or stores card numbers, bank details or passwords. It does not connect to banks.

Where the data is stored

  • On your iPhone — in the app’s own storage.
  • In your private iCloud — if the iPhone is signed in to iCloud and iCloud is not turned off for Shahy. Syncing is done by Apple’s system; the data sits in the private database of your account, and the developer has no access to it. How Apple handles iCloud data is described in Apple’s privacy policy.
  • In files you create — a backup and a CSV export. They appear only when you choose to make them and stay wherever you save or send them. The backup is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe.

What the app does not do

  • it has no sign-up and no accounts;
  • it contains no analytics, ads or third-party libraries;
  • it does not send data to the developer or to third parties;
  • it does not track you across other apps and websites;
  • it does not use location, contacts, photos, the camera or the microphone.

Permissions

  • Face ID or device passcode — only if you turn on the app lock yourself. iOS performs the check and tells the app only the result; the app never receives biometric data.
  • Notifications — reminders about a debt’s due date, a bond redemption and a category limit being reached. They are created on the device itself.

Widgets and shortcuts

Widgets show your balance and the amount left to pay on the Home Screen and Lock Screen, so anyone who sees the screen sees them. Data for widgets, shortcuts and Spotlight search does not leave the device.

Diagnostics from Apple

If you have allowed sharing analytics with app developers in iPhone Settings, Apple may provide the developer with anonymized crash and usage statistics. Shahy itself collects no such statistics.

Correspondence

When you write to the support address, I see your email address and whatever you send, and I use it only to reply.

How to delete your data

  • Records are deleted right in the app; if iCloud is on, they disappear from there too.
  • Deleting the app removes the data from the iPhone.
  • Shahy’s data in iCloud can be deleted in iPhone Settings, in the iCloud section where storage is managed.

The developer has no copy of your data, so there is nothing to delete on the developer’s side.

Children

The app is not specifically directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
